When to Use a Jacket
Babies in the NICU are kept warm by their incubator or cot, so a jacket is usually one for later, once your baby is in an open cot or coming home. Take it off indoors, as babies should not sleep in hoods or outdoor layers. For car journeys, take thicker layers off before fastening the car seat harness and tuck a blanket over the straps instead.
